Utilizing Evidence Based Practices

Client Centered
The focus of the Client Centered approach in therapy is on creating a supportive and empathetic environment. The therapist listens without judgment, shows genuine understanding, and helps the client explore their own feelings and thoughts. The goal is to empower the client to find their own solutions and grow in their self-understanding.

Solution Focused
The Solution-Focused Approach in therapy is a goal-oriented, short-term treatment method that emphasizes finding solutions. It focuses on identifying and leveraging clients’ existing strengths and resources to achieve specific, desired outcomes. Clients set clear, realistic goals and develop actionable steps to achieve them, fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking relationship.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured psychotherapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. It aims to help individuals understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected and how changing one can lead to improvements in the others.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Designed to help process traumatic experiences, EMDR involves the use of guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation (like tapping or auditory cues) while the person focuses on distressing memories. The goal is to help reprocess these memories, reducing their emotional charge and helping the individual integrate them in a more adaptive way.

Meet Ashley
Hi, I’m Ashley Conway.
Owner & LCSW Licensed Clinical Therapist.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Public Management in 2010 and later went on to receive a Master’s degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University in 2021. I began working in the Mental Health field in 2019 and have gained valuable experience working with both children and adults in a variety of clinical settings.
My experience includes a clinical internship at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in the Mental Health clinic and Primary Care Behavioral Health where I worked with Veterans suffering from PTSD, Trauma, and co-occurring disorders. At my time with the VA I co-facilitated the women’s “courage group” weekly for women Veterans who experienced Military Sexual Trauma. Additionally, I have worked in a community-based setting in the public school system working with children as well as their parents who presented with trauma and behavioral issues.
After my time working in community mental health, I made the change to private practice where I have gained valuable experience working with a wide array of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, grief, adjustment disorders, relationship issues, grief, and trauma.
I utilize a client centered approach and am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My goal in therapy is to empower clients in a safe, nonjudgmental space, while assisting them in developing more insight into underlying behaviors and provide coping skills for them to utilize in their healing journey.
